my good friend julie, owns an awesome little boutique called pod located on the cusp of boston. along with gorgeous textiles, home wares and beautiful clothing, she often shows art. to celebrate her little vessel turning 10 years old this month julie has asked brooklyn based artist lauren denitzio to show her work (there will also be an open house, please see her blog for more details.). lauren's graphic illustrations are bold, primary colored images often painted over found dictionary pages. i really like the above print best, really makes one think...
an artist and graphic designer living in brooklyn. laura obsesses over music, productivity and city living, she illustrates moments of escapism surrounded by mantras and motivational phrases. inspired by themes of individuality and control issues, she works mostly on dictionary pages and collaged paper with pen an ink. lauren received her BFA in iIllustration from RISD and now uses it as an excuse to draw things for other people. she has worked with various bands and labels and draws all the artwork for her band, The Measure [sa].
